Purple Island got its name from a Bronze Age dye works, and the mangroves at Al Khor around it are the greenest thing in Qatar. “The driver was good. But the tour office did not communicate with him clearly on the itinerary so he was not sure what was listed. Since the tour took about 5 hours, the office wanted to charge more, even though it says on the website that it is a 4 to 5 hours tour. The places we went were not that interesting either.”
